I See You
My kids and I were outside one evening, just hanging out in the backyard. My daughter stopped what she was doing and pointed up. Something was sitting in the sky, bright and completely still. She watched it for a long time. Then she looked at me, dead serious, and said "I think it sees us too."
I don't know what she saw. But the way she said it - no fear at all, just this quiet wonder - that got me. She wasn't scared. She wanted it to come closer. That's how kids are. Something unexplainable shows up and they just go "hey, come down here."
I wrote the lyrics that night and produced it using Suno. The style I went with was dreamy folk rock - airy guitars, steady drums, soaring vocals, cosmic synth layers. Hopeful and atmospheric.
Lyrics
Verse 1
Hey up there, shining bright,
Floating steady in the daylight,
I've got my eyes locked on you,
What's a wanderer in the blue to do?
Chorus
I see you, I see you,
Hoverin' high with that silver hue,
Don't just linger way up in the air,
Come on down, fly closer here.
Verse 2
You're a mystery on display,
Driftin' slowly but you won't drift away,
Are you watchin', are you shy?
I'm just a dreamer with my head in the sky.
Chorus
I see you, I see you,
Hoverin' high with that silver hue,
Don't just linger way up in the air,
Come on down, fly closer here.
Bridge
I'm not afraid, I just wanna know,
What secrets ride on your radiant glow,
Circle 'round me, make it clear,
Let me see your wonder near.
Final Chorus
I see you, I see you,
Hoverin' high with that silver hue,
Don't just linger way up in the air,
Come on down, I'm waitin' here.
